In 1980, Mr. Eck's grandsons, Richard Eck Bierley, and Donald A. Bierley became the sponsors of the award for the Eck Family.  The original criteria for the award were updated at that time with a monetary contribution added.

Charles F. Eck Memorial (1980 Revision)

The Charles F. Eck Memorial was and is created and presented in memory of Mr Eck who, through the years, admired and loved Miamisburg, the local High School, and in particular the High School Band and its members.

The Eck Memorial was first presented on Thursday March 17, 1949 by Miss Charlotte Eck, daughter of Charles Eck, for the Eck family and was received and acknowledgement made by Mr. John Stone, Band Director for the school and band.  It has been continuously presented since then by Miss Eck for the family.

The Eck Family wishes to continue the award and its support to the High School Band and feels a slight change from the original format should be made starting in 1980.

Henceforth, the Eck Memorial will consist of the following:
  1. Permanent large trophy:  to remain in possession of school at all times with the name of annual winner to be inscribed thereon.
  2. Small trophy:  will be given annually to pupil selected as MOST VALUABLE MEMBER of the band.
  3. Monetary contribution: sum of $100.00 will be given annually to pupil selected.
